During the fall semester 2021 the Carnegie Arts Center will present the exhibition Making Your Mark: Prints & Drawings from the Hechinger Collection, which includes over 50 works by contemporary artists demonstrating a wide variety of drawing and printmaking techniques. The imagery in all of the works revolves around tools, such as those used in carpentry and construction. These common implements are transformed into objects of great interest by artists from the Pop Art era to today. Works by Jim Dine, Claes Oldenburg, Wayne Thiebaud, Jacob Lawrence, and William T. Wiley are just a few highlights of this impressive collection.
The Carnegie Arts Center is offering teachers and students the opportunity to see these museum-quality works in person. Trained docents will be available to lead tours Tuesdays through Fridays from September 28 through December 22, 2021.
More detailed information on the field trip content is available by downloading the informational flier. A request form should be submitted as early as possible to secure dates for your school’s visit.
Current COVID protocols require masks for all participants.
